Session Abstract:
While the shift to being more digitally focused and adoption of new technology comes with benefits such as greater operational efficiency, it also introduces additional and unique risks, perhaps not previously considered for businesses. The Cyber Risk and Insurance teams from Hub International will provide an update on the threat environment, unique risks faced by architects & engineers and share strategies and resources for building cyber resiliency within your organizations.

About the Speakers:
Jonathan Weekes, CRISC: Cyber Product Leader – Canada, is a recognized expert in the field of commercial insurance, specializing in professional liability and cyber. With over 16 years of dedicated experience, Jonathan is a seasoned professional known for his strategic insights and commitment to clients of all sizes, across diverse industry segments. In his role as HUB International's Cyber Product Leader, Jonathan is at the forefront of developing bespoke product solutions tailored to each client's unique needs. He provides invaluable counsel on issues pertaining to cyber risk, leveraging his extensive background in commercial insurance to negotiate effectively with insurers. Jonathan plays a pivotal role in educating both clients and colleagues on emerging technologies, ensuring a proactive approach to cybersecurity.
Jonathan is Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control by ISACA, a testament to his commitment to staying at the forefront of industry standards. This certification equips him to assist clients comprehensively in their efforts to assess, quantify, and effectively manage cyber risks.
Jack Bottomley, CISSP: Senior Risk Consultant is a cybersecurity risk management professional with a background of assessing and advising organizations of all sizes and industry verticals to develop and implement cybersecurity programs. As a former Cyber Insurance Underwriter in the Lloyd’s of London market, Jack saw firsthand the scale and impact of cybersecurity incidents across Europe and North America. When Ransomware shook the insurance market, Jack was on the front lines advising clients of the risk, best practices to prevent an incident, and measures to recover when what seemed like the inevitable occurred. Jack transitioned from risk transfer to mitigation, joining KPMG as a cyber risk advisory consultant. He gained experience developing and implementing cybersecurity risk management programs for clients, including conducting assessments against industry frameworks such as the NIST CSF, and CIS Implementation Tiers, and developing roadmaps to maturity. Where necessary, Jack engaged in projects to implement policies and processes to support organizational risk management and worked closely with transformation teams engaged in technology change projects.
