Revit Architecture I provides a foundation for architects in the use of Revit. This course explores fundamental design concepts and leads the user through the basics of designing and modeling an intelligent, integrated Building Information Model (BIM) to develop plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules and 3D views. Students will learn the functions and practical applications of the software while developing a well-rounded knowledge of the capabilities of Revit as a BIM tool.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the purpose of Building Information Management (BIM) and how it is applied in Revit
- Navigating the Revit Architecture/Structure/MEP workspaces and interface
- Working with the basic drawing and editing tools in Revit
- Creating Levels and Grids as datum elements for the model
- Creating a 3D building model with walls, windows, and doors
- Adding floors and roofs to the building model
- Creating component-based and custom stairs
- Detailing Reflected Ceiling Plans with ceilings and lighting fixtures
- Adding component features, such as furniture and equipment
- Setting up sheets for plotting with text, dimensions, details, tags, and schedules
