The implementation of the 2012 version of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) on January 1 of this year brings changes affecting architects, engineers and other construction-related professions. Join the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC) on April 9, 2014 for an opportunity to learn:
• When and how the OBC should be applied, as well as highlights to some of the changes in the new OBC affecting our industry.
• How adoption of the North American Fenestration Standard/Specification (NFAS) fenestration standard for windows, doors and skylights, which harmonizes the alphabet soup of standards applicable in earlier versions, will affect you – it’s a whole new language
In addition to topics related to the OBC, the final presentation will discuss:
• How different insulation strategies and roofing membranes will affect heating and cooling consumption in different building types.
