Insurance 101…Everything you wanted to know about insurance but were afraid to ask
Most of us know there is a range of insurance products that we may purchase, including the Professional Liability Insurance provided by Pro-Demnity Insurance Company. However, few of us have had the opportunity to learn much about insurance, although it is an essential aspect of our practices.
The program will include an introduction and brief history of insurance, including the key concepts and terms that an architect in practice needs to understand to be conversant about insurance. This will be followed by a more extensive discussion about Professional Liability Insurance, the Pro-Demnity program and important policy features that distinguish the Pro-Demnity program from other available insurance.
Key provisions of a professional liability policy will be explained with discussion of the significance for an architect, including the possible consequences of failing to observe the requirements.
Presenters:
Stephen White: FCII, CIP
Stephen White has had a long career in the insurance industry in the UK and in Canada. He has assisted Pro-Demnity in the preparation and delivery of several continuing education seminars including previous “sold out” versions of Insurance 101. Stephen also teaches insurance related subjects for the insurance industry and acts as a consultant and expert witness on insurance related matters. His knowledge of insurance and enthusiasm for the subject assures us of an interesting morning.
