Session Abstract:
The OAA’s Continuing Education (ConEd) program is a mandatory requirement for all architects in Ontario. Whether you’re newly licensed or a long-time member, and whether you’re wanting to ensure you are covered for this cycle or getting ready for the next one, you will benefit from a refresher on what the program entails.
The Association’s ConEd Department warmly invites you to this FREE webinar aimed at explaining the landscape of continuing education and professional development opportunities. This session, worth 1.5 Structured Learning hours, is designed to support you in meeting your educational and licensure requirements.
It provides critical information about your obligations under the Architects Act and how to effectively report your learning hours on your Transcript to avoid unwanted fines and other regulatory sanctions. Participants will gain insight into various aspects, including how to report hours for the same meetings or reading the same publications, how to avoid duplications, participating in the OAA Continuing Education Webinar Series, the annual Conference, as well as other programs like the OAA Admission Course, the Self-Study Series, and Fundamentals of Running an Architectural Practice (FRAP).
Learning Outcomes:
• Participants will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) Continuing Education requirements and the underlying purpose of those requirements
• Participants will learn how to report ConEd Hours to their transcript
• Participants will be introduced to a variety of continuing education opportunities offered by the OAA, including webinars and annual conferences
• Participants will be introduced to the OAA’s Admission and FRAP course

Attendance Policy: Members are required to attend at least 80% of a webinar in order to qualify for Continuing Education learning hours.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the webinar in order to receive a refund. Webinar fees are not refunded if the cancellation is received after the deadline or if you are unable to attend.
