IFT, that’s it!!! Except for Addendums!

TIME: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Session Abstract:
4 hours left till the Issue for Tender drawings and specs need to be released. In these high-pressure situations, the chaos is real! Have you captured all the discussed items from the previous design meetings? Additionally, did you take note of the major structural change in the IFT drawing set that was received from Structural 30 minutes ago?

Relate to this scenario? Perhaps it was just recent for you. Regardless, we have all been here before. In these final moments, did you review and coordinate every discipline's work in the drawing set? You know the challenges you will face during the construction of a poorly executed IFT.

Learning Outcomes:

• Discover strategic tactics for preventing these stressful moments from occurring prior to issuing a Tender package. At the end of the day, we can not issue incomplete IFT drawing sets, as they create headaches on-site and could ultimately end a good client relationship.
•  Evaluate the addendum stage process. It's critical to catch all errors during the addendum stage as it's the last chance before it becomes an extra on-site. We can't provide a new full drawing set, but we must correct any errors before the tender closes.
•  Identify good practices and daily habits to ensure a complete tender package is issued with confidence. These practices include how you set up your meetings, a drawing checklist, coordination tips, Revit tips, and so on.
•  Anticipate when the tender closes, we will be confident in our work and abilities knowing the project will run smoothly and be built accurately over the next construction stage while keeping the extras to a minimum.
