Delamination, blistering, staining, mold growth and other problems related to the installation and performance of moisture-sensitive flooring materials are very common; and a significant source of claims against architects. This programme will help identify key factors contributing to the problems along with recommendations for the design and construction of concrete slabs that will receive moisture-sensitive or pH sensitive flooring materials or coatings. Principal Speaker: Peter A. Craig – FICRI – Concrete Floor Specialist Peter Craig has over 39 years experience as a concrete construction and repair specialist. His involvement with the concrete industry is comprehensive and he has served on or chaired many committees and task groups associated with the design of concrete slabs and flooring concerns. He has served as National President of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) as well as the ICRI Concrete Moisture Testing Certification Program Sub-Committee where he served as Chair and course instructor. He is a voting member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Committee 302; “guide for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction” and an associate member of ACI Committee 360; “Design of Slabs on Grade”. He is currently Chair of the ACI 302.2 Moisture Document Sub-committee and a major contributor to the ACI 302.2R “Guide for Concrete Slabs that Receive Moisture-Sensitive Flooring Materials”. Mr. Craig is a widely published and much sought after consultant and speaker on this topic.
