About the Speakers:
Stefan Gopaul
, MASc, BASc, P.Eng. | Associate Director | Regional Manager, Canada & USA, Windtech
Stefan is based at Windtech’s Toronto office and is responsible for overseeing projects in the USA and Canada. He prides himself on delivering high quality environmental wind studies on time, efficiently and to a high degree of quality and attention, being supported by an 80+ highly experienced global team, 3 large state-of-the-art wind tunnel facilities, and a 10,000 core computation cluster for accurate CFD modelling.
Prior to joining Windtech, Stefan acquired many years of experience in wind engineering, microclimate studies, snowdrift snow loading studies as well as falling ice. He has worked on many globally renowned landmark developments, including many throughout Canada, and the USA and is thereby able to provide local technical support to a variety of Wind Tunnel and CFD studies.
Stefan appreciates the opportunity to work with interdisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, developers, and owners to help design spaces that prioritize occupant comfort and safety, whilst maintaining functionality and visual aesthetics.

Edoardo Cardone, MEng, BEng. | Senior CFD Engineer, Windtech
Edoardo completed his MSc Advance Aeronautical Engineering with a focus on CFD and fluid mechanics. He also has experience with wind tunnel studies, having assisted in the commissioning of the new wind tunnel at Imperial College, including replicating the turbulence wake being a bluff 3D axisymmetric body with a blunt trailing edge. Edoardo was the IMechE Design Competition National Winner in 2017. Edoardo has extensive experience in advanced CFD and is responsible for undertaking a variety of CFD studies that are relevant to the built environment, including (but not limited to) studies of wind microclimate, thermal comfort, stack effects, wind-driven rain, pollution and ordor dispersion, and snow accumulation.
