The presentation covers three elements associated with glazing design:
■ ENERGY – energy loads and energy consumption based on glazing selection and window-to-wall ratio
■ LIGHT – daylighting case study including an existing building retrofit
■ COMFORT – occupant comfort case study including an existing building retrofit
Each element is discussed in general with background information, theoretical / study examples, and project references. Depending on the level of expertise in the audience, each element can be reviewed in greater depth. After the presentation, attendees will be able to explain how glazing size and material selection affect energy loads, daylighting, and occupant comfort.
