This introductory course in acoustic isolation is designed to give attendees basic knowledge needed to make informed decisions about sound control in wall and floor-ceiling assemblies, while keeping industry standards and innovations in mind.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
•Distinguish the measurements and standards used to test wall and floor-ceiling assemblies in the laboratory and field
•Identify parts of building codes relevant to sound isolation and their minimum requirements for compliance
•Evaluate the credibility of acoustical tests and results to ensure that assemblies will perform as designed
•Compare sound attenuation materials to determine the most suitable for use in wall and floor-ceiling assemblies
