Sudbury Storeys by Ted Wilson

Part of Nuit Blanche 2020 exhibit, McEwen School of Architecture, Laurentian University, Sudbury, ON

Re-purposing Wood as Architecture: The installation re-purposes laser cutter off-cuts of Baltic birch panels to depict a conceptual tall wood building made of recycled materials. The piece invites a conversation about wood, tall wood in particular, and how timber in tall structures could be even more sustainable through the use of more recycled material. It is part of an ongoing interest in the relationship of architecture to the natural environment.
