Sketches and text by Gary Erickson
Architect, OAA, PMP LEED AP
This post is part of our summer 2018 blOAAg series, Summer Sketches: Capturing the Essence of Architectural Ideas.
That first sketch, always a subconscious stab in the dark, has a sticking power. Contrary to project management lore, the renaissance genius architect may not be a liability, but a gift. I sometimes make these and hide them, as they often contradict the design process, stakeholder analysis, and billable rates. Smarter clients have a brainstorming stage, where those blue sky sketches should line the walls.
