Conceptual sketch for the Olympic University Stadium in Mexico City. Completed in 1952, the stadium hosted the 1955 Pan American Games and the 1968 Olympic Games. A mix of reinforced concrete and native volcanic rock, this modernist stadium brought together modern technologies with local sensibilities. The stadium was designed by Augusto Pérez Palacios in collaboration with Raúl Salinas Moro and Jorge Bravo Jiménez. Decorating its facade is a mural by renowned muralist Diego Rivera.
