We have been working with the Bentway to develop a collection of whimsical skating aids for the newly opened skating trail under the Gardiner Expressway. Called Bent/Wood, the skating aids are constructed of bent laminated wood and finished with colourful stains. Their undulating sculptural forms and interactive light and sound elements invite different ways of engaging skaters of all ages and levels of ability on the trail. Set to launch on Family Day as part of a larger public art program at the Bentway, this project aims to provide both functional assets and interactive art pieces to this unique setting.
