Conceived to deliver world-class horticultural research and support outreach and public education, this scalable research platform includes 13 independent growing environments, labs and production facilities that enable rapid innovation in direct response to the needs of Ontario’s commercial growers. Operations and circulation areas multitask for public events and outreach functions using sliding walls that enable rapid transformation of technical spaces. The hyper-adjacency between research, production and outreach activities makes accessible the facility’s research capabilities to the commercial grower community and general public, and foregrounds research and innovation as the primary experience of place.
