3.0 As Constuction Documents End

Completion of construction documents is the culmination of the consultant team’s design phase efforts and likely represents months (or even years) of work. At this point the documents’ audience will transition from a small internal group familiar with the project context and development (sub-consultants, client/users) to a much wider audience of suppliers, fabricators, and municipal building officials with no prior project knowledge. At this transition, the construction documents become “public”, through building permit submission and as a result of being circulated through any number of bidding platforms. It is important the documents are coordinated to read as a coherent consolidated package, capable of standing on their own.
