The Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) is the national joint committee responsible for the development, production and review of standard Canadian construction contracts, forms and guides. Formed in 1974, the CCDC includes owner representatives from each of the public and private sectors, as well as appointed volunteer members of the following four national organizations:
- Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC)
- Construction Specifications Canada (CCS)
- Canadian Construction Association (CCA)
- Association of Canadian Engineering Companies (ACEC)
CCDC 2 is the standard stipulated price construction contract used throughout Canada for small or large projects.
The OAA recommends certain Supplementary Conditions for CCDC 2, developed in consultation with and the agreement of the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA). See Practice Tip PT.23.
CCDC Contracts and Guides can be obtained from the CCDC website. Printed copies of some documents are available directly from the OAA; digital copies can be downloaded from the CCDC website. A Registration Number purchased from the OAA is needed to be able to download CCDC documents. Copyright seals are required for the use of the CCDC contracts. These seals are available from the OAA. Refer to the Order Sheet at the OAA Store.
