Architecture Canada/RAIC publishes and distributes a number of standard client/architect contracts as well as an architect/consultant contract. RAIC contracts require the use of an authorization seal in order to validate the document. Authorization seals as well as paper copies can be purchased from the RAIC website's
Contract Documents page. RAIC contracts are intended for use in all jurisdictions in Canada and therefore are not optimized for use in Ontario. The former contracts RAIC 7 and 8 have been rescinded. The most commonly used RAIC contracts are RAIC 6- Canadian Standard Form of Contract for Architectural Services, and RAIC 9 - Canadian Standard Form of Contract Between Consultant and Architect.
