Environment 3 Building
Designed by Pearce McCluskey Architects on an accelerated design-build schedule, the Environment 3 Building (EV3) is located in the heart of the University of Waterloo’s campus. The 61,000 sq. addition and renovation was built on top of the existing Faculty of Environment building (EV2) and has achieved a LEED® Platinum rating.

The 835 sq ft building was designed by Petroff Partnership Architects with the intention of creating a unique educational model of sustainable architecture and construction in Toronto. The project, located within High Park, shows how coupling traditional building methods with new technologies can provide a highly efficient, green building.

The vision for this project was to create a sustainable, state of the art replacement school (NTCI) and integrated residential development (Republic). The project was made possible through a unique and innovative partnership between the Toronto District School Board and Tridel. The extensive community participation in the design has set a precedent for similar integrated developments in the City.

Greater Toronto Chapter - CGBC
The theatre’s unique design features include a sleek, three-story glass envelope that surrounds the entire north, east and west sides of the facility, providing acoustic insulation, additional lobby space, and an aesthetic external finish that preserves the integrity of this historical building. The glass envelope surrounding the Enwave Theatre recently reached the end of its lifetime and required replacement.
