We are looking for an intermediate level Architect/Designer with solid experience in on-site and in-office contract administration. You should also demonstrate the ability to problem-solve detail design issues and manage smaller scale architectural projects.
Responsibilities:
You will report to a Partner, Principal, or Associate and work closely with the landscape and architecture teams for this role. Projects will include institutional and commercial buildings and interiors, multi-unit and single-family housing, heritage, adaptive reuse, renovations, interiors, public realm, research and experimentation. Responsibilities will include:

Manage/support projects from concept through contract administration;

Develop and prepare concept designs and refine projects under guidance of a senior leader;

Research and resolve technical/design issues during design development and construction drawings;

Analyze and apply technical reports, codes, by-laws and other regulations;
-
Prepare presentations, attend client meetings, prepare permit/approvals and construction drawings;
-
Manage and coordinate consultant work;
-
Perform contract administration on-site and in-office duties, assisting and supporting senior staff;

Assess RFIs issued by the contractor, assist to resolve document conflicts, issue SIs and PCs, prepare GRRs. This will require a through understanding of the contract drawings and specifications;

Manage your own work and ensure it meets office standards and project deadlines;

Prepare drawings using Vectorworks and other modelling software;

Develop strong relationships with clients and internal teams;

Other related duties will be assigned as required.
Qualifications:

MArch or equivalent;
-
Motivated and dynamic Architect or Designer with 5+ years post-grad professional experience;

Excellent design judgement and ability to clearly express your ideas;

Experience in the design of small and medium-scale projects;

Strong project management and organizational skills;

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development;

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a studio environment;

Familiar with local building codes and authority approval processes;
-
Experience in project phases from schematic to end of construction;

A high level of graphic communication skills and spoken and written English;

Comfortable working on a Mac platform;

Willing to learn Vectorworks, proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS 365;

Legally allowed to work in Canada;
-
Drivers license is an asset.
Term: Permanent/full time.
Start Date: April is ideal, or as soon as possible therafter.
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience. Starting at $75,000 annually.
