The role:

As a key member of the Business Development and Marketing team, the Content Development Lead will report to the Senior Director, Business Development & Marketing. This role requires a curious, creative, enthusiastic, and excellence-driven collaborator. Ultimately, you will support the development of multi-media marketing campaigns and be responsible for the execution of written materials that maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of channels.

 

Select key responsibilities:

Content creation:

  • Write all messaging and storytelling elements for kpmb.com, social media, newsletters, videos, press releases, news stories, POVs, project pages, brochures, and internal communications.
  • Develop engaging narratives that reflect current trends and thought leadership in the architecture and design field.
  • Synthesize information supplied by project teams, business development, and external partners into effective and accessible copy.
  • Create clear, concise copy according to brand guidelines and tone.
  • Conduct research to stay current on topics relevant to our audience and industry.

Editorial support:

  • Assist in the development and review of marketing and communication outputs by other team members.
  • Collaborate with the design and marketing teams to create integrated campaigns that resonate with our audience.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, grammar, and consistency.
  • Maintain editorial calendars and project timelines.

     

Audience engagement:

  • Engage with the audience across multiple platforms. Build and maintain strong relationships with followers, influencers, and stakeholders.
  • Analyze content performance and make recommendations for improvement based on audience feedback and analytics.
  • Optimize content for SEO and user engagement.

 

Collaboration + strategy:

  • Work closely with the Marketing & Communications Lead and other team members to brainstorm and conceptualize creative campaigns.
  • Work with teams to storyboard, write and edit original content such as articles, presentations, and award submissions.
  • Collaborate with firm partners, consultants, collaborators, clients, etc. to articulate project stories.
  • Contribute to strategy sessions by providing insights into audience trends and content preferences.
  • Help manage content workflows and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of materials.

 

Candidate profile + qualifications:

  • Related post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (i.e., Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Design, Architecture).
  • 5+ years of consistent writing experience in arts, culture, design, or architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling storytelling and narrative angles, tailored for specific audiences.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills in English.
  • Ability to capture and edit basic video content is an asset.
  • Experience working on sales-related collateral (pamphlets, brochures, pitch decks, etc.) is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp, Microsoft Office, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and task management.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and react quickly to trends and opportunities.
  • Knowledge of and interest in design and architecture is an asset.
  • A passion for the values and purpose of KPMB.

Salary Range Compensation starts at an annualized base salary of $80,000.00 and is commensurate with experience.

Transportation and bike storage:

A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMB’s office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Thursday. Underground bicycle parking is also available.
