Twice a year, the OAA’s Special Project Funding (SPF) program distributes financial support to help applicants among the 14 Local Architectural Societies carry out projects or events. In the second half of 2022, the Association’s Communications Committee awarded support to the following projects:

• North Bay Society of Architects’ (NBSA’s) kid kits and financial sponsorship of the North Bay Municipal Heritage Committee Photo/video contest;
• St. Lawrence Valley Society of Architects’ (SLVSA’s) support of the Architecture Open-source augmented reality platform currently in development;
• Windsor Region Society of Architects (WRSA)’s social media management and financial sponsorship for Bike Windsor Essex Winter Wheels Program and Windsor International Film Festival; and
• Algoma Society of Architects (ASA), NBSA, Northern Ontario Society of Architects (NOSA), and Northwestern Ontario Society of Architects (NWOSA)’s Designing for Dignity in the North: A Celebratory Event (which will be tied into next year’s OAA Conference).
