The Construction Codes Reconciliation Agreement (CCRA) working groups would like to hear from those in the architecture profession. The group is seeking feedback about the engagement and role of industry andinterested parties in the new governance model for a transformed national code development system.
Under the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), the Province of Ontario signed the Reconciliation Agreement on Construction Codes in 2020 to further harmonize the current Ontario Building Code and Ontario Fire Code with the current National Construction Codes in order to help reduce barriers related to trade, product manufacturing, building design, and maintenance. The OAA has been participating in the consultation process over the last few years, and continues to closely monitor the harmonization efforts. To see previous correspondence, visit the GR Portal on the OAA Website.
Open until July 20, the survey consists of 15 questions, takes about 15–20 minutes to complete, and is voluntary and confidential. Part of a broader consultation process, the responses will also help shape the role of the new Advisory Council in providing strategic advice on code development priorities, opportunities, and impacts.
