ReHousing, a non-profit focusing on housing creation through applied research, consultation and education, has announced that its website resource, ReHousing.ca, has been selected as a semi-finalist in the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Housing Supply Level-Up Challenge.
The Housing Supply Challenge seeks to recognize and encourage initiatives with the potential to address Canada’s housing crisis by increasing supply and improving the efficiency of new housing creation.
ReHousing is one of 20 semi-finalist projects selected by an expert jury from over 250 nationwide initiatives. The semi-finalists each earn $1 million as well as professional mentorship and support before going on to compete for $3 million and $5 million prizes in the second and third stages of the competition.
In February, ReHousing was awarded the President’s Medal for Outstanding Housing Research, which came with a prize of $25,000. As a result, this recognition marks ReHousing’s second prize from the CMHC this year.
