Twice a year, the OAA’s Public Awareness Sponsorship program distributes funding to help applicants carry out projects or events that fulfil the Architects Act’s object of “promoting public appreciation of architecture and the allied arts and sciences.”
For the second round of funding, the Association’s Communications Committee agreed to support the following projects:
- gallery exhibit and public talk on “Neighbourhood Corner Stores and Other Non-Residential Uses,” by the Studio of Contemporary Architecture;
- “Building with Light” online panel during DesignTO Festival;
- series of mini-webinars by Smart Density;
- procurement reform initiatives in the Ottawa area led by Toon Dreessen;
- engagement for Toronto 2030 District’s decarbonisation pathways; and
- “Architecture for Young Readers” programming in the Ottawa area by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).
Other previous recipients from this year are listed online.
The next deadline is January 30, 2023, with an additional submission due date of July 24. More information is available on the OAA Website.
