On November 28, Bill 23, More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022 passed third reading and received Royal Assent. This sweeping legislation has been touted as another step that the government is taking to address housing affordability in Ontario, but there are numerous unintended consequences of the Bill, including environmental degradation, losses to rental housing protection, and expanded opportunities for sprawl development.
