Twice a year, the OAA’s Communications and Public Education Committee (CPEC) awards financial support to Ontario’s Local Architectural Societies for special initiatives that raise public awareness about the value of architecture in their communities. At its late-summer meeting, CPEC agreed to offer the following projects Special Project Funding:

• North Bay Society of Architects: “Kid Kits” for elementary school students;
• St. Lawrence Valley Society of Architects: continued development of ARchitecture open-source augmented reality platform; and
• Windsor Region Society of Architects: lecture by city planner and urban designer Jeff Speck, support for Bike Windsor-Essex’s Winter Wheel program, and recurring sponsorship of the Windsor International Film Festival.
