Join ULI Toronto’s Accelerating Accessibility Coalition (AAC) and Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto for a special two-hour event featuring UK Professor Vikki McCall, Chair in Social Policy at the University of Stirling and a leading researcher working at the intersection of housing, ageing, disability and place.
The session will begin with a presentation, “Future-Proofing Environments: Learning from the UK,” exploring inclusive design, stigma and lessons for the Canadian context. A hands-on workshop, “Building Empathy Through Serious Games,” will follow, demonstrating how participatory tools can help shift mindsets and inform real estate practice and policy change.
Whether you work in housing, development, design, policy or accessibility, this session will offer fresh perspectives on creating more inclusive communities. Attendees will gain practical insights into how ageing, disability and place intersect, examine international approaches to inclusive design, and explore innovative tools for building empathy and influencing meaningful systems change.
Please note that an accessible entrance is available on Floor 21 (follow signage), and accessible washrooms are provided.
