On Tuesday, March 18, from 1 to 2 pm, join other members of Ontario’s architecture profession for the FREE virtual OAA Keynote. Hear internationally acclaimed urban planner Larry Beasley share stories from across his 30 years in civic service and the private sector, including his time as director of planning for the City of Vancouver.
Beasley’s work continues to dramatically evolve cities, revitalize neighbourhoods, and preserve the built environment with an eye to the future. A Member of the Order of Canada and an RAIC Advocate for Architecture (among many other accolades), he has chaired National Capital Commission design advisory committees, and served as an advisor for cities as diverse as Dallas, Rotterdam, and Abu Dhabi.
Beasley is an excellent speaker to kick off registration for the 2025 OAA Conference, which is coming to Ottawa. The May 14–16 event, themed Reshaping Communities, will feature new conversations about how places shape people’s behavior, how a changing built environment can effectively respond to and reflect societal changes, and how impacts at both local and global scales are converging.
This virtual Keynote session offers OAA members 1.0 hours of Structured Learning for the mandatory Continuing Education Program. (Please note: registration for the keynote closes at 5 pm on Friday, March 14.)
Please note: You will receive your personalized Zoom link via email closer to the event itself.
