“Systems thinking” can make a step function improvement in ventilated façades versus the status quo of a jigsaw puzzle of components and ambiguous responsibilities. What a mess! Risk, cost, back charges, schedule… there must be a better way!
We'll explore subsystems and fibre cement cladding.
Learning Objectives
- Compare systems thinking (an integrated approach) to component thinking (a jigsaw puzzle approach) in terms of the impacts on the design and construction of ventilated facades.
- Learn about how 'design precision' is different from 'design assist.'
- Learn about how bespoke facade design is better than a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Gain understanding via a deep dive in subsystems, and a common cladding option: fibre cement; learn how systems thinking can meet goals above with predictable performance, clear ownership, and overall project satisfaction.
