Session Abstract:
There's a consensus in architecture, engineering and construction that AEC has been slow to adopt the digital technologies that have profoundly transformed other industries. But new digital tools are emerging that help improve and automate the design and delivery of projects as well as the management of architectural practices.
Learning Outcomes:
• Understand both the potential benefits of a strategic approach to software and the elements of the digital ecosystem of architectural practice.
• Develop insight into how firms optimize practice management systems to support architects and deliver improved profitability
• Develop an overview of AI in current practice and the potential impacts of AI on the profession.
• Understand the principal challenges and potential pitfalls in the digital transformation process.
About the speakers:
Rowley Mossop
As Principal of Innovia Partners, Rowley is a trusted advisor to architectural, engineering and related businesses in Canada and the United Kingdom. Rowley works with founders and owners to develop business strategies that help them achieve their professional and financial goals. Innovia Partners is a specialized management consultancy founded in 2004 to serve creative and project-based businesses. Rowley's services include strategic planning, succession planning, finance and operations improvement, profitability and productivity improvement and key talent management.
Iain Godwin
Iain Godwin is an expert architectural IS and IT consultant based in London. Building on his deep practical experience in architecture, Iain works with top practices to develop their digital strategies and has led AJ 100 firms through their digital evolutions. Iain was Senior Partner and IT Director at Foster and Partners and Head of IT at BDP. His clients include AHMM, David Chipperfield Architects, Zaha Hadid, Wilkinson Eyre Architects, RSHP and Populous. Iain has also been involved with the recent launch of the industry software specification for future digital design systems.
Haitham Laadissi
Haitham is a Consultant at Innovia Partners. Haitham has extensive international experience helping complex project-based businesses succeed in digital transformation and software implementation. Haitham helps Innovia's clients use process improvements and technology to get the most out of their practice management software and level up profitability.
