Session Abstract:
This webinar will provide an overview of Tarion’s role as the not-for-profit consumer protection organization that administers the New Home Warranty in Ontario. It will provide an overview of” "RB19: Condominium Projects Design and Field Review Reporting", and discuss architects’ interactions with Tarion when involved in the design and construction of condominiums. It will also include detailed discussions on Condo Conversions and Performance Audits.
Learning Outcomes:
Webinar participants will come away with a greater understanding of:
• Tarion’s role as an Administrative Authority of the province and administer of the New Home Warranty;
• The Tarion B19 process, and architects’ possible obligations with it;
• What is a Field Review Consultant and what is their role in the reporting process?
• The New Home Warranty of Residential Condominium Conversion Projects (RCCPs);
• Post-construction Performance Audit reporting.

About the speakers:
Ryan Haley, Director, Common Elements, Tarion
Ryan graduated from George Brown College with a Diploma in Architectural Technology and has since obtained a Certificate in Building Science from the University of Toronto. Ryan has been a member of the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC) and has held the designation of Building Science Specialist (BSS) since 2016. Ryan has worked at Tarion Warranty Corporation since 2008 and is the Director of Common Elements. He works closely with vendors, builders, municipalities, consultants, and owners across Ontario to ensure Condominiums are constructed as required under warranty.
Sandro Nevicato, Technical Manager, Field Review, Common Elements, Tarion
Sandro graduated from Mohawk College with a Diploma in Architectural Technology. Prior to starting at Tarion Sandro worked in the construction industry as Site Superintendent and Construction Manager managing the construction of single-family homes a condo conversion. Sandro has worked at Tarion Warranty Corporation since 2006. He started as a Freehold Warranty Service Representative and after 5 years transferred to Common Elements and worked as Common Element Warranty Services Representative. Sandro is the Technical Manager, Field Review for Common Elements where he works closely with Field Review Consultants, property managers, vendors, builders, and consultants across Ontario.
