Session Abstract:
AI is poised to reshape the future of various sectors including architecture. Participants will embark on a journey through the world of generative AI and learn how these tools can be harnessed to improve the built environment. A real world case study in the form of a building code chatbot (similar to ChatGPT) will also be presented. Finally, the presentation will tackle ethical considerations and potential risks associated with implementing AI.
Learning Outcomes:
• Explore the history of artificial intelligence and understand why we're at inflection point in history.
• Understand the technology behind generative AI and applications in construction.
• Understand the challenges and ethical considerations associated with generative AI in the construction industry.
• Explore real-world case studies where generative AI is put to use to assist industry professionals.
About the speaker:
Juste Fanou has over ten years of experience in specifications writing. As a senior specification writer, he has played a vital role in various projects, including institutional, commercial and residential. Juste is passionate about sustainable design and his expertise is often sought after by architectural firms seeking clarifications on contract documents, output specifications or interpretation of technical standards. Beyond his spec-writing work, Juste is the founder Bibliotech, an app designed to promote healthy construction materials. Juste is a member of CSC.
