Workplace Harassment Provisions & Obligations Under Ontario’s OHSA

Session Abstract:
This webinar will provide a comprehensive understanding of workplace harassment provisions under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Participants will gain insight into the legal framework, including key definitions and employer obligations. We will break down mandatory employer responsibilities, such as developing policies, conducting thorough investigations, and addressing complaints effectively. Best practices for workplace harassment investigations will be explored, emphasizing proper documentation, impartiality, and reporting. Lastly, we will highlight the role of proactive training and prevention strategies in fostering a respectful workplace culture, equipping employees and management with the tools to prevent harassment before it occurs.

About the Speaker:
William Goldbloom, Principal and Founder of WG Resolutions, is an experienced workplace investigator, trainer, and mediator. He provides clients with effective and affordable resolutions to workplace conflict and misconduct. William has conducted investigations for clients in various industries including tech, media, healthcare, non-profits, municipalities, manufacturing, shipping, and education. In 2021, William was appointed to the Government of Canada’s national roster of workplace harassment and violence prevention investigators. He has provided training on preventing workplace harassment and conducting investigations across Canada. Prior to founding WG Resolutions, William was a workplace investigator and trainer at a renowned workplace investigation law firm. He started his law practice as an employment and labour lawyer at an international law firm.
