Course Description
The average North American spends over 90% of their time indoors. Accordingly, time spent in the built environment has a prominent impact on our overall health, wellbeing, and productivity. As such, healthy building design, construction, and operation strategies have recently emerged to help improve the occupant experience in different indoor environments. The WELL Building Standard has recently emerged as the “leading tool for advancing health and well-being in buildings globally”. This webinar begins with an introduction and background to indoor environmental quality and the impacts buildings can have on occupant health and wellbeing. An overview of the WELL Building Standard is then provided with emphasis on the structure, health and wellness concepts and features, and certification process. This webinar concludes with an overview of WELL certified projects and considerations for clients interested in pursuing the certification.
