TIME: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Session Abstract:
Using a neighbourhood in Don Mills as a case study, this will test novel approaches to land use that are utopian, to achieve a utility-end. The intent is to be academic in land use planning, working at a grassroot level, and challenging current notions of zoning and land ownership. The end objective is to create critical urban nodes, while addressing climate changes, the housing crisis and urban infrastructure; working through the lens of politicians, lawyers, urban planners and architects.
Learning Objectives
- To re-examine Critical Urban Nodes in the local context of Don Mills
- Challenge current notions of Zoning, Land Use, and Development
- Providing, saving and enhancing key community and urban infrastructure
- Can we address housing and saving the Ontario Science Centre?
