OAA Webinars on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Time: 11:00 am–12:30 pm

This impact extends to the workplace and is reflected in day-to-day interactions, in the hiring process, and in one’s work. This session will offer participants an introduction to help them better understand their biases and how they impact the hiring process, as well as how to structure the hiring process to minimize this.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe unconscious bias and the sources of these biases
2. Identify the various types of bias in the hiring process
3. Discuss the impact of biases in the workplace when hiring, and
4. Apply strategies to minimize the effect of bias in the hiring process.
