Attendees will gain insights into the significance of these systems, their key components, and principles. The aim to share practical knowledge on assessing smoke control systems, drawing from successful and unsuccessful projects undertaken by LRI Engineering Inc. Compliance requirements and standards governing these systems will be explored, including the 2024 Ontario Fire Code requirements for ongoing inspection and testing for smoke control systems, followed by a systematic approach to assessment, enriched by LRI’s project experience.
Compliance with the OFC often requires that the smoke control system is assessed by a licensed engineer. Compelling case studies will showcase challenges, solutions, and lessons learned, bridging theory with practice.
