About the speakers:
Clive Thurston, President, Thurston Consulting Services
Clive has extensive experience in the construction industry, having worked as a Superintendent, Estimator, Project Manager, and former owner/operator of a small Toronto-based construction company for twelve years. From 2001 to 2021 Clive was President of the Ontario General Contractors Association representing the General Contractors in the ICI sector. His duties included promoting the industry, facilitating disputes between project partners, promoting education, providing advice on contracts and the supplementary conditions attached to them. A strong believer in consultation rather than confrontation, Clive promotes policies that are beneficial to all stakeholders within the construction industry.
Annik Forristal, Co-Group Head of National Infrastructure and Construction Group, McMillan LLP
Annik is a Co-Group Head of McMillan LLP’s National Infrastructure and Construction Group whose practice is dedicated to the construction, infrastructure and development industries. A practicing engineer before becoming a lawyer, Annik acts for all industry stakeholders, including general contractors, owners, architects and engineers. She is frequently sought after for her expertise in contract drafting and negotiation and regularly advises her clients on project delivery and administration, contractual allocation of risk, claims management and dispute avoidance.
