In our second session, we'll turn our attention towards lateral systems (i.e., resistance against wind and seismic loading) and recent relevant building code updates to Part 9. Topics will include: basic levels of lateral load distribution, changes from OBC 2012 to 0BC 2024, Part 9 Prescriptive Lateral Approach, proposed changes coming to the NBC 2025, and design consideration to enhance lateral performance.
