While architects and designers often engage engineers for structural design, having solid foundational knowledge about structural systems can help bridge the gap between concept and coordination, reducing surprises down the line.
Join us and Jake Greenhow of Blackwell for a special two-part lecture series for architectural professionals focusing on the structural systems and limitations of buildings under Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code (Housing and Small Buildings).
For our first session, we’ll dive into everything structural in Part 9—other than lateral systems— including key considerations for structural loads, foundations and underpinning, guards, masonry, chimneys and fireplaces, wood frame construction, and more. It will also include a brief introduction to TACBOC standard details.
