On Thursday, November 5, the OAA’s biennial NOW Lecture makes its National Capital Region debut. Join us at the prestigious National Arts Centre, from 6 to 8:30 pm in the new Rossy Pavilion, for an intimate event dedicated to architecture, right in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Connect with colleagues over hors d'oeuvres from 6 to 7 before settling in for a one-hour talk from Juxta Architects, winner of this year’s OAA Best Emerging Practice Award. The Ottawa-based firm has built its practice around heritage conservation paired with deep building science and envelope expertise, restoring and reimagining some of the area's most storied buildings. Discover how Juxta found its niche, what it took to launch and grow the firm, and lessons for anyone thinking about starting their own practice. OAA Council President (and Ottawa Architect) Lara McKendrick will also lead a moderated question period.
For OAA members, the NOW Lecture offers 1.0 hour of Structured Learning toward your OAA Continuing Education transcript. (Please note this is an in-person-only event and will not be filmed or recorded.)
Tickets are $50 (plus tax) for OAA members and the public, with special pricing of $25 for Intern Architects and Intern Technologists, and $10 for a limited number of Student Associates and Student Technologists. (Cash bar onsite.) Space is extremely limited and the event is expected to sell out, so secure your space quickly. Registration closes at 11:59 pm Eastern on Monday, October 26.
