The annual National Trust Conference – presented in association with the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP) – is Canada’s largest event for professionals, practitioners, and volunteers engaged in regenerating and saving Canada’s historic places. The 450+ who will join us in Winnipeg for Heritage Delivers will come from a diverse range of backgrounds: architects, professionals, and the conservation industry; planners and government representatives; heritage organizations, and volunteers; and university instructors and students.
National Trust Conference 2019 explores the catalytic power of historic places and how they are essential to building vibrant and diverse communities, and sustainable economies. The conference will blend high-impact plenaries, with multiple concurrent session streams, workshops, and skill-building field sessions.
Architects will find rich opportunities for professional development with 5 tracks of concurrent sessions on the following themes: Indigenous cultural heritage, reconciliation, and sites of conscience; Design Impact – Sensitive additions and infill in historic districts; Social and Environmental Impact – Green, inclusive, and healthy communities; and Economic Impact – Heritage-led development and policy change.

• Anders Lendager - Revolutionary Danish architect and Founder/CEO of Lendager Group unpacks adaptive reuse, building deconstruction, and the circular economy.
• Jim Lindberg –VP of Research & Policy at the US National Trust for Historic Preservation on their cutting-edge research quantifying the value of heritage.
• Yu Ka-Sing –Hong Kong University architect on the UNESCO prize-winning Blue House project sustaining the living heritage of a working class shophouse.
• Linda Monckton – Be inspired by heritage contributions to health and social cohesion with the Head of the Wellbeing and Inclusion Strategy at Historic England.
