Northern Facades is offering lunch and learn sessions. Each of these presentations are designed to be 1 hour in length and can be delivered either remotely via a TEAMS meeting for in-person. Sessions are offered on an ongoing basis by appointment.
There are four different learning sessions available:
1. Thermal Breaks in Cladding Support Attachment Assemblies.
Reaching towards Net Zero energy ready buildings is becoming a popular topic in todays climate changing world. Energy efficiency has expanded towards exterior wall assemblies where effects of thermal bridging are considered and thermally broken sub-framing systems are becoming the new norm. This course will identify and compare various cladding attachment methods on the market. Learn how to determine the appropriate clip for your project and how to compare effective thermal resistance required to achieve projects targeted R – Value.
2. High Performance Rainscreen Cladding Systems for Building Envelope
Protecting the building inhabitants has always been the sole purpose of its enclosure since the days of rudimentary dwellings. However, designers of modern buildings are continuously challenged by the increasing standards of building performance, complex functionality, and unpredictable reality of climate change all while balancing the financial returns and investments of their owners. Building science has paved the way for increased understanding and education of high-performance building envelope. This course is designed to guide participants through some of the latest developments and best practices in North America about practicality of designing with rainscreen principals.
3. Sintered Ceramic Rainscreen Cladding Systems
Sintered Ceramic Rainscreen Facades are becoming more popular in the North American market. This sustainable, durable, large format material is ideal for high traffic pedestrian areas where graffiti, stain, and dent resistant panels are of top priority when selecting an envelope material to enclose a building. This course demonstrates all the design considerations incorporating sintered ceramic rain screen on new and existing buildings. This course will highlight aluminum cassette
frame mounting, and effectively detailing panels on architectural drawings.
4. Designing Tomorrow’s Facades: Innovation in Sustainable Cladding Systems
This presentation by Northern Facades explores the future of architectural design through advanced rainscreen panel systems. It highlights the critical role of sustainable building practices in response to climate change, evolving building codes, and fire safety standards. With a focus on high-performance materials, cutting-edge manufacturing, and energy-efficient solutions like ISO Clips and Net Zero-ready systems, the presentation showcases how Northern Facades is shaping the next generation of building envelopes—where aesthetics meet performance and sustainability.
