TIME: 11:00AM - 12:00PM
Session Abstract:
Join CADCentre for an insightful webinar on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
Throughout Europe new legislation introduces LCA as part of the local building codes to lower the carbon footprint of the building industry. Denmark is a global leader in sustainable building practices with the most ambitious restrictions, including mandatory LCA documentation on all new buildings from 2023.
This webinar will cover the importance of LCA calculations, how they integrate with Building Information Modelling (BIM), and their impact on reducing the carbon footprint of buildings.
Key Topics:
The significance of Life Cycle Assessments for architects in initial project phases
The European Union's approach to use LCA as a driver for a more sustainable building industry
The synergy between BIM, LCA, and sustainability
DesignLCA as a tool for LCA calculations in Archicad
Danish case studies: Strategies for designing buildings with a lower carbon footprint
Presenters (presented at the OAA conference):
Thomas Graabæk: CEO at Formfaktor: Thomas is an experienced keynote speaker within all areas of building information modelling (BIM), digitization of the building industry, life cycle assessment (LCA), and OpenBIM. Since 2020, he has been the owner of Formfaktor, a BIM‐focused software developer and reseller company.
Sidsel Vincents Jansen, Sustainability Lead at Formfaktor: Sidsel Vincents Jansen is a master student at the Technical University of Denmark where she specializes in building information modelling (BIM), sustainability, life cycle assessment (LCA) calculations, and machine learning.
