Join us for our FREE Virtual Keynote with Colin Ellard

TIME: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

On Tuesday, March 24
, from 1 to 2 pm, join other members of Ontario’s architecture profession for the FREE virtual OAA Keynote, sponsored by the Concrete Council of Canada. This webinar marks the opening of registration for this year’s Conference, Collaboration Powering Innovation.

Cognitive neuroscientist and author Dr. Colin Ellard is the director of the University of Waterloo’s Urban Realities Laboratory, which studies the human relationship with spaces at all scales, from room interiors to streetscapes. One of the world’s leading experts on the psychology and neuroscience of urban design, his talk will explore the built environment’s impacts, both psychological and physiological, on people.

Ellard consults with governments, museums, architects, and corporations to help find ways to build better places based on our understanding of the brain. He has worked with the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Novartis-Basel, the city of Abu Dhabi, and the Canadian federal Ministry of Housing, Infrastructure and Community. Ellard is also the author of two books—You Are Here, which explores the human ability to find our way, and Places of the Heart, a much-praised account of the human psychological and neurological relationship with place.

This session includes a live, moderated Q&A and offers  1.0 hours of Structured Learning under the OAA’s Continuing Education Program.

Learning Objectives
