GPRO Operations & Maintenance Essentials

Course overview

GPRO Operations & Maintenance Essentials (O&M) provides building professionals with strategies to reduce energy use while improving tenant comfort and health. Participants leave with at least three immediately actionable measures and the next steps needed to achieve them.

What you’ll learn

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Take a systemic approach to operating and maintaining a building.
  • Evaluate building performance.
  • Identify at least three immediately actionable measures that will improve building health, energy or water efficiency of your building and the next steps needed to achieve them.
  • Explain the costs and benefits of those measures.
Who is this for

This course is ideal for property managers and building staff in both residential and high-rise commercial buildings, including: building superintendents, operators, facility and property managers, operating engineers and stationary engineers.

How it works

This course is spread over three days and will be held virtually over Zoom.

Day 1: Wednesday, September 11, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Day 2: Wednesday, September 18, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Day 3: Wednesday, September 25, 9:00am – 1:00pm

Registration includes a course e-book and the online exam session. Students who pass the exam with an 80% or higher become a GPRO Certificate Holder. NEW: Registration also includes access to 3 on-demand bonus classes for a deeper dive into cutting edge O&M topics like Local Law 97, green procurement, waste management, energy audits, and financing energy upgrades. We will follow-up before class with course materials and access to our online Education Portal.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled course date, sign up for a future class at no additional cost by emailing gpro@urbangreencouncil.org. We understand that your plans may change and are happy to refund your registration fee within 90 days of purchase. Requests for session changes and/or refunds must be received at least a week in advance of the course date. Memberships and donations are nonrefundable.

Ralph has strong building engineering experience acquired through a diversified portfolio of positions from Apprentice through to Chief Engineer.  SMT-SMA-BOC, Mitsubishi and York VRF certified.
