The seminar will explain to you the impact on construction of the new SB-10 and the new model National Energy Code for Buildings (mNECB, 2011). Designed for architects, engineers, builders and building professionals this seminar will introduce the prescriptive requirements of SB-10 and provide a glimpse of the future effect of compliance with mNECB (2011).
Specifically this half-day seminar will cover:
• Common wall systems (e.g. window walls, curtain walls) which are no longer code compliant together with examples of code compliant design options.
• Thermal bridging and the prominence the new code places on continuous insulation in wall systems.
• Fenestration system performance and new code requirements.
• Envelope performance trade-off paths.
