This webinar provides a practical overview of contract governance principles and risk management strategies tailored to architectural practice. Drawing on experience from large-scale public infrastructure and transportation projects, the session explores how governance structures, commercial controls, and performance monitoring mechanisms influence project success.

Pinar Tugay, MSc, PMP, CCMP
Pinar Tugay is an architect and commercial management leader with more than 15 years of experience leading contract, commercial, and project management functions across major infrastructure, transportation, and construction projects in Canada and internationally.
Holding a BSc in Architecture and an MSc in Project and Construction Management from Istanbul Technical University, Pinar has built a career at the intersection of design, project delivery, and commercial governance. She has held progressive leadership roles at the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), Metrolinx, and an international ENR-ranked construction company, leading complex commercial frameworks, contract negotiations, governance initiatives, and multidisciplinary teams on large-scale capital projects.
Pinar is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Contract and Commercial Management Advanced Practitioner (CCMP). She also completed the Strategic Leadership: Advanced Certificate at the University of Toronto, further strengthening her expertise in leadership, communication, and organizational effectiveness.
Passionate about advancing the profession through knowledge sharing, Pinar has designed and delivered numerous corporate workshops and executive presentations on contract management, governance, commercial processes, and risk management. Her practical, case-based approach bridges the gap between contractual principles and real-world project delivery, equipping architects and project professionals with practical strategies to strengthen collaboration, manage risk, and achieve better project outcomes.
