Truth and reconciliation at the intersection of real estate and development is entering a new phase in the Greater Toronto Area—moving from awareness and consultation toward meaningful economic participation.
An innovative partnership between the Mississaugas of the Credit Business Corporation (MCBC) and global architecture and engineering firm Arcadis is helping to overcome the capacity barriers that have historically limited Indigenous participation in major real estate and infrastructure projects. By combining Indigenous leadership and relationships with extensive technical expertise, the partnership is enabling the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (the Treaty Rights Holder throughout the GTA) to work alongside leading developers and contribute professional services to significant projects across the region.
Marking the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this ULI Toronto webinar will explore how the partnership is working, what it signals for the future of economic reconciliation, Indigenous-led development, and how the real estate and development community can engage meaningfully.
